MedExpress has earned The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval® for Ambulatory Care Accreditation for demonstrating compliance with its performance standards. The Joint Commission is the nation's oldest and largest standards-setting and accrediting body in health care. MedExpress is one of the largest independent urgent care providers to receive the Gold Seal.
Each of MedExpress' nearly 300 urgent care centers and on-sites locations, which deliver customized, comprehensive care to employees at places of work, across 27 states has received accreditation. This international recognition from The Joint Commission is a reflection of a health care organization's commitment to providing safe and quality patient care.
"Choosing where to receive health care is an important and personal choice, and we’ve been honored that over four million patients each year trust MedExpress with their care," said Jane Trombetta, Chief Clinical Officer, MedExpress. "As a local health care partner, we have a responsibility to continue earning that trust, and I can think of nothing more foundational than patient safety. This accreditation represents our ongoing commitment to deliver exceptional patient care ─ care that is verified by one of the most trusted, rigorous quality reviewers in our industry."
In order to receive this accreditation, MedExpress locations underwent thorough, unannounced facility reviews during which Joint Commission reviewers evaluated compliance of more than 600 care standards and elements of performance including patient care, facilities and medication management and more.
The Joint Commission’s standards are developed in consultation with health care experts and providers, measurement experts and patients. They are informed by scientific literature and expert consensus to help health care organizations measure, assess and improve performance.
