Due to the recent tornado in the surrounding Lynchburg area, the Lynchburg Hillcats are inviting all first responders and volunteers to watch the Hillcats take on the Winston-Salem Dash for FREE on Thursday, April 26.

All first responders and volunteers can pick up a free ticket to the game at the City Stadium box office. Additionally, MedExpress Urgent Care will be providing each first responder and volunteer with a free hot dog upon entry to the game. First pitch is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.

"During this tough time, we're glad to have partners like MedExpress Urgent Care," Hillcats President Chris Jones said. "There were countless first responders and volunteers who were brave, selfless and showed tremendous courage by helping people to safety during the tornado. We would like to say thank you to all who risked their lives and treat them to a game at City Stadium."

The Hillcats and MedExpress Urgent Care are proud to come together during this difficult time.

"We always hope that natural disasters will not touch our community, but when they do, it's an incredibly humbling experience," said Dan Neely, regional vice president, MedExpress. "When MedExpress on Timberlake Road was recently devastated by a tornado, Lynchburg first responders were on the scene within minutes to care for our patients and our staff. As healthcare providers, we are used to caring for others, but yesterday, we were the ones who needed care. It's our greatest privilege to have an opportunity to thank first responders in this small way."
